507 Huron Street

This home was built in the late 1800’s and purchased by the current owner’s grandparents in 1911 as they had outgrown their 1867 log house. The home was doubled in size in the 1920’s. Stones from the field were incorporated into the front of the wood burning fireplace in the ‘new’ addition. Three generations from the same family were raised in the house. There are some original pine floors, with others covered with hardwood in the fifties. Black walnut trim has recently been installed in the living/dining area from a tree on the property that was toppled by a storm. The exterior of the house has remained the same as constructed but with the additions of features and landscaping in keeping with the era. Some of the pine furniture, quilts and other items have never left this homestead in 100 years and reflect the strong sense of history of the property and the previous owner’s occupations.
